As someone who voted for beto, Texas is still a very Republican state. Beto may have won the big cities but there are more rural areas of state than big cities. I assumed Cruz would win but beto would make it closer than it should have been for Texas.
Plus the excitement he brought has helped some democrats win house seats that were usually always republican

He WON TARRANT COUNTY! That alone keeps my chin up, as Ooze won it by 17% in 2012. When I moved here from the other side of the Metroplex in July, I was told it was pointless volunteering for Beto in "bright red" Tarrant County. 
I’m trying not to cry... I voted for Beto proudly went & saw him speak bravely put his sign in my yard (I’m in a deep red county) & prayed he could pull it off... I’m heartbroken but will support him in any future runs #BETO2020
Same here. My first yard sign ever was for Beto. I’m in a red neighborhood in a red county. He has my vote anytime he asks for it.
Same with me... I’m in deep red Montgomery county north of Houston... this was the first time I’ve even had democratic options to vote for locally ever... I see the change coming I just wish it was now not later

My brother lives in Houston. He is telling me thousands are still waiting to vote, it's too early. They called the election early so people standing in line can go home.
That's not how elections are supposed to work. There's a 3 hour wait to vote in California, and the polls close in 2 minutes.
Legally, if you’re in line when they close you can still vote.
That's great and all, but how long were the polls open today? I forgot to mention which polls in California still have 2 hour line-ups (assuming ppl didn't just give up an go home, like they did in Texas)
Election Day should still be a holiday, and there should be enough booths for all. Just wanted to stress that every vote counts.
