I don’t think this kind of violence crosses over to white victims unless they are poor or otherwise struggling.

My brother was shot in the back and killed by the police. He was unarmed and hadn’t committed a crime. He was white and neither poor nor struggling. The officers involved were not convicted and are still police officers.

I am VERY sorry, for implying it never happens, but also for your loss.
-
Thank you. It means a lot.

my god. how horrible. at the *very least* -- even if you are personally inclined to always give cops the benefit of the doubt -- the cop who shot is 100% unfit to serve. unbelievable.

I blame the police officers and the jurors.
-
I am curious how those jurors get bribes. And do they think they or their children will be the next victims? Australian and UK police act differently, and the murder rate there is 5 times lower than in the US!

Yes, it does. A few years ago there was an incident at my friend’s apartment that ended with him shot to death by cops. His whiteness did not save him. My friend was 22 and had a brain tumor that caused erratic behavior. He needed help. He got murdered instead. Business as usual.

What is wrong with US cops? This is just one example of incompetence that goes unpunished. The whole encounter is a farce.

In a discussion on this a person said that because someone does not obey a police command then it is justified to shoot them. This disgusts me and indicates a lack of understanding... more police training is required and awareness of incidents like this. All life is important!...

The police are following people into the public restroom now?

This is abhorrent behavior. How have they both been cleared. ONE OF THEM SHOT & MURDERED AN INNOCENT MAN MULTIPLE TIMES! Why do the police follow a jaywalker? Don't they have more important things to do? Fight police brutality against all innocent victims.

The core issue behind police misconduct: absolute power corrupts absolutely.
#Conservatives favor giving police this much power assuming it will only be used to subdue those...usually PoC...they think "deserve" brutality; never truly believing it can eventually be used on others.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I forgot to even mention how outrageous this is and tragic for this man.

He followed him to “warn him of hazards of jay walking”, called for backup in route, taxes the man and shot him while he was drying his hands? That’s not peace officer work right there. The video seems to skip a little no?
