Thank you so much Shaun. It probably took me longer than any article I’ve ever written. It was like a stats archeological dig where one new stat kept leading to another.

With analytics being so big now in baseball, you would think these stats would speak for themselves and some team would’ve hired Dusty by now.
-
I honestly don’t think anyone was aware of these stats on one-run games and bullpen ERAs. I unexpectedly discovered then

OK, let's be honest here. The reason they didn't win was because he crushed the team before he left. The Cubs pitchers (Prior, Wood, etc.) were never the same because he used them WAY too much. Same can be said for other teams.
-
The baseless Prior/Wood myth also addressed in the article (in Truth #5).

My Reds now looking for a manager.

If they didn't appreciate him before, why would they now? They should have never let him go in the first place. This is coming from a fellow Reds fan.

I don't dislike Dusty but he ruined alot of pitchers arms by leaving them in way too long

One of the few black managers in the history of baseball and one of THE best to ever do it! Seeing him and Dave Robert's manage against each other in the NLCS a few years ago was beyond special.

only problem is that Dusty was notorious for tanking his young pitchers by wearing out their arms

He is a good manager, but he couldn't pull through in the post. Giants MAY HAVE won the series in 2002 if he hadn't pulled Ortiz.
-
Dusty’s pulling of Russ Ortiz and other playoff myths are addressed in the article. It was a no-brainer to pull Ortiz who just gave up two hits and was a 7th inning wreck w/a career 7.20 ERA in the 7th inning as starter. Had he left Ortiz in & lost, everyone would know this stat.

@granthpaulsen@funnydanny if you guys ever run with a segment this please announce on Twitter so I can radio app in to listen. It’s past time the DC sports personalities *intentionally* stamp out the lazy arguments against Dusty’s intelligence and bullpen mastery.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better.
