What political office has she held? What large organizations has she been the head of? I understand the mayor is not the dictator of the city but to imply that the mayor has no power because the city administrator runs the city is false. Know who appoints the city administrator?

Administrator, chief of police, 3 police commissioners, cast a tie breaking vote, and give a speech once a year... am I missing something? It’s a very unique office, designed for an organizer, or an ambassador. That’s why the current mayor ran as a "cheerleader for Oakland."

The office is potentially extremely powerful, but only of the person has the right skill set. Take Quan, for instance. Extremely competent as a bureaucrat, but failed the strong mayor office.

If experience running large organizations is your thing though, @SAiED4Oakland is your candidate. He also has the best solution to homelessness.
