The bad faith of Republicans who yammer about the wisdom of the Founding Fathers in constructing the Senate is hilarious. California should divide itself into 68 blue states with Wyoming-sized populations and a total of 136 senators just to get them to shut up.

If California divided itself into a bunch of tiny states in order to have absolute control of America's elections, all of the red states would do the same, then all the other blue states would do too in reaction. This would make elections a clusterfuck of votes from both parties.

Admitting new states requires approval from Congress, so if California did it first their 136 senators could just block anyone else from trying it. This is all part of the wisdom of the Founding Fathers, which Republicans sincerely admire.
