This is what I don't understand about the "bad apples" excuse. The complete quote is "a few bad apples spoil the barrel". That's because bad apples release ethylene gas which quickly spoils the good apples around them. So the POINT is that you get rid of the bad apples ASAP!
Listen to me. The whole damn system is corrupt. I am glad these 3 cops are being charged too. We need to see more of this across the country. When people say "just a few bad apples" as if we are supposed to forget about the problem - they are entirely missing the point. The point of the saying is that you remove/punish/get rid of the bad apples AS SOON AS YOU CAN before the entire institution is corrupted.

This needs to happen more often. Our sisters & brothers of color have been rightfully crying out for Justice for years. It's only because the proliferation of cell phone videos & cop cams, that the atrocities of law enforcement are finally being addressed. The whole system stinks

That would involve people being held accountable for more and admitting being wrong. It would also mean the police force would as a whole needs to work harder on training their officers. They need to be trained to deescalate situations, not whip their fire arms out.
