Thank you @BernieSanders.
No single American leader/politician fought harder and more courageously for Amazon to boost their minimum wage to $15 than you.
You confronted and harassed Jeff Bezos head on and now 350,000 workers will get a real raise.https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2018/10/02/amazon-announces-it-will-boost-minimum-wage-all-workers-after-facing-criticism/ …

This is an empty gesture by a corporation that is overly hostile to unionization of any kind.

You realize the present labor market is very tight and the were having a tough time getting qualified workers don't you? More to do with Amazon's economic need than the employees benefit.

Regardless, It is better for businesses to be the ones to step forward and let's face it, Walmart and Amazon can afford to do it first. Than to have the Government mandate it. It is better for businesses to choose to do it. Better for the economy too.

1: they'll automate those jobs out of existence within a year. 2: the cost of this raise will be reflected in their prices. So, everyone makes more, and everything costs more.

Cost of living will come and wipe that out in less than a year then we're back at square one blaming minimum wage again and ignoring the constant raising high cost of living.

Sadly, I keep hearing from others that while Bezos agreed to up the wages to $15, he's removed any investments and possibly any benefits they may have, or are building to have in the future. It's like 1 step forward, 1/2, or even 1 full step back. Bezos, try having real guts.

Bernie
@SenSanders is the type of evidence political commentators point to particularly regarding the Labor Movement, that "nature abhors a vaccume" in that Bernie strives to equate the notional extent of the Labor Movement as consistently of, by & for the people. :')#Bernie2020Thanks. Unfortunate how much effort and determination has to be applied in order to give someone a liveable wage
