I never really had family. Two of my best friends were killed 4 days before Christmas last year. I’ve never felt pain like that before and I don’t wish it on anyone.

My parents were divorced when I was six. My Mom had to get a job and taking care of me during the day fell to my 10 year old brother. He passed away last year from pancreatic cancer.

My thoughts are with you. I know that pain too well. It never completely goes away, and sometimes it sneaks up and punches you in the gut out of nowhere. But we persevere, if for anything, to honor their memory and to carry the weight of doing good in the world in their stead.
