My new theory: there is mention of calls about noise complaints to Botham. Botham lead the singing in his church, and had a powerful singing voice. How natural is it to think that when he practiced or just did vocal warm-ups before church, that it pissed off miss long shift cop?

I'm thinking this may play into the allegations that she filed numerous noise complaints against him including one the day of the shooting. It's possible she went to his door on purpose, in uniform and started banging on his door to confront him in person.

I kinda think this too. Maybe she was mad at the noise and she went up there in her uniform to “intimidate” him with the cloak of being a police officer.

I used to live next door to my town's Police Chief. Once, on his day off, he knocked on my door in full police gear to forward a complaint from his wife.

I can totally see that happening. The threat of someone coming to you in uniform puts a little more emphasis on it. It’s intimidation, plain and simple.

It’s speculative at this point, but I think you all are right. I think she went to his apartment expecting to intimidate him and when he didn’t react the way she wanted, she shot him. After seeing the BS she has posted on social media, she’s already proven herself to be violent

You all know she said she thought she was at her apt right? Did she think her music was too loud?

Since he’s not around, we only get to hear the story she’s decided to tell.

Serious question. If it's your apartment, why are you demanding someone open the door? Did the officer have a roommate? That's just really odd. These questions aren't trying to draw any conclusions, but the answers could lead to some even more interesting questions...

Additional observation. Something is wrong w/ the training. When sleep deprived your reaction time goes down (this is why you don't drive while drowsy) and you have to rely on muscle memory. Her muscle memory was to shoot first. 1/

I'd prefer my officers to be trained to de-escalate first. She's a trained officer. Even if there was someone in her apartment, she has many more tools at her disposal to ensure a peaceful resolution (backup?). 2/

This is a very tragic situation. It also seriously underscores how far police training has probably drifted to a shoot first mentality. :( 3/3
