I hate Cuomo as much as the next person, but not riding the subway isn’t a big scandal. Even some slightly well off people in Queens don’t ride the subway. Empowering the IDC, taking corporate money and a million other things can be pointed to rather than this nonsense.

there are a ton of things that cuomo has fcked up at, for sure, and all those things should def be acknowledged. i personally am just particularly butthurt @ cuomo about this specific gripe since the MTA is cuomos responsibility, and aside from calling for a state of emergency //

last year, there hasn’t rly been any progress, but LOTS of bickering between him & diblasio (who also def has his own failings lmao, but that’s for another day). you’re right about wealthier ppl from the outer boroughs who don’t even ride train anymore too //

but this is still a rly terrible situation esp for low income ppl & mid class who do not use other transport options (which is still the majority of NYC). besides the ceilings, stations & trains literally falling apart and losing power, there’s also lost wages due to train //

delays, increases in childcare costs bc the train was delayed on ur way to pick up ur kid, etc. sandy damaged 1/2 the train systems in 2012, but he only called a state of emergency in 17 after a train derailed. i don’t wanna think about another 5 years of mismanagement

Considering Nixon’s first time outside NYC was months after she decided to run and even then has not said a word concerning many parts of the State and she is running for a state position.. she is a worse choice
