BREAKING: The National Black Police Association writes an open letter to Nike in support of Colin Kaepernick, his protests of police brutality & injustice, and Nike’s new ad. In it, they blast white police unions for being the divisive forces in this.https://theintercept.com/2018/09/05/colin-kaepernick-nike-ad-black-police/ …

what a great letter, succinct and poignant. The white community must face facts that the response from white cops against Mr. Kaepernick is pure racism

So, when Trump tweets the protests have nothing to do with race, don't believe him? Got it. Having said that, police brutality effects people of ALL races! Crazy how the "all lives matter" crowd seems to remain silent about that. Frankly, even some on the left don't admit that!
-
The issue is that a disproportionate amount of unarmed young Black men are being murdered by Police because there is no
#PoliceAccountability If they were murdering young white men armed or not laws would have been changed How many white murderers with guns are arrested#All -
I think this is far too simplistic a take? White people do get shot by police. Laws are NOT changed because they ( along with Hispanic people) aren't "newsworthy." I invite you to look deeper into the subject of police brutality. Accountability is happening, slowly but surely.

Bureaucracy kills. The stats are there. I'll look it up and send it to you shortly. White supremacy allows you to believe the lie that we are all treated equally regardless of skin colour, demographic location, socio-economic status, and the list goes on. U are an ostrich
-
Thanks for that? Look, my point is: if we accept oversimplification of the reality, this doesn't help us to fix the problems. Is police brutality a problem? Yes, I was only saying that it actually happens to people of all races, and it's important to recognize that.

Please don't try and "all lives matter" this movement. Kaep isn't saying only black citizens are being wrongfully murdered by their sworn protectors...he's just focusing on this particular injustice.
-
You are absolutely right and so is Kaep...you are more than welcome to start your own protest and to organize it's the exact reason we have our first amendment. But please don't try to undercut another movement especially one we both agree is necessary.
-
Adam, it took me awhile to understand what you were saying here: If I bring up that not only black people die at the hands of the police, that "undercuts the movement"? Not help people who might be lacking in empathy to care? You suggest I should "start my own protest"? 1/

I'm sorry but I never understood the color difference. Americans are Americans. Yet black police are supporting this guy who wore pig socks to play in. Single handed he brought down the NFL, ONCE a National pastime to a hinderence. Now Nike will suffer. I'll never buy Nike again.

It’s quite obvious and disgusting. I really can’t believe this is 2018 and we are still talking about racism in this country. We should be WAY past this crap.
