Officers turning off body cameras should be fired for not following procedure.

They should be charged and arrested for defeating ends of justice.

A citizen would've and has been charged with filing a false report. A FELONY!! He should be arrested and thrown in jail!! And people wonder why people are killing cops. Not that I approve of such actions. The police are to serve as our protection. Not scamming us to make quota.

Should be mandatory firing for turning off the cam because there is 0 reason to do that unless you're going to do shady stuff.
-
Shouldn’t be able to turn off in first place during a shift
-
I agree. It shouldn’t be able to be turned off, and require an override they need to call in to do so. I’m sure though that if they do that, they’ll do things like covering it accidentally, or putting music on so the sound is harder to pick
-
Shouldn’t even require an override. I can’t think of one instance where you would even need to turn it off ever, at all while on duty.

Thats good isn't it? They made a mistake and owned up to it. Isn't that what you want to happen?
-
Made a mistake?! They FRAMED the kid and charged him with first degree murder! A life sentence! Owned up to it?! They were found out and had no choice and face no consequences for their illegal actions!
-
I can just kiss you right now Betty. That was well said!

just being arrested for attempted murder will disqualify him for some jobs with a background check. His arrest needs to be expunged also
-
Seal it. Expunging doesn’t always work, as was told to me in my case. My issue was dropped and yet it still showed on my background checks until I sealed it. Huge mess.
-
Wow thanks for that insight. Hope you are doing better now.
-
Would like to inform you guys that if something is expunged it can still show up on private records BUT an expungement is a ticket to lie. So if anything pops up from expunged charges just say there is a mistake and that the “charge” never happened. You can legally lie :)
