The elected official who truly fixes New York’s trains, which are now the worst of any big city in the world, would forever be seen as a hero in this city.
Just own it. Make it your thing.
It’s one of the many reasons I’m supporting @CynthiaNixon. She’s owning it.

Fossil fuel companies have lobbied against investments in public transport for decades. Politicians like
@CynthiaNixon are refusing to take money of fossil fuel industry—politicians who are still on the fossil fuel payroll (@NYGovCuomo) will never truly address public transit.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

If the NY Government stopped taking Subway money, like a piggy bank. You'd be at your destination on time.

I just started grad school at City College. I live in Staten island. To get there I take the bus to the ferry (an hour), the ferry (a half hour), and the 1 train to 137th (40 minutes to an hour and 20 minutes). It's absolutely unbearable

6.5 miles? How about Uber?
-
Hardly a solution unfortunately. If everyone in NYC simply took an Uber...there would be stand still traffic.
-
Ya I guess. I live in San Diego and use it often. Big diff in traffic here.

shouldn't this be addressed to Mayor de Blasio as well? (and for that matter, Mayor Bloomberg)
-
No. Cuomo is the one in charge. It's the state, not the city, that controls the money.
@andrewcuomo took money from that budget, and threw it at an upstate ski resort and training center. Nevermind that all Olympic training shifted to Salt Lake after the Olympics there in 2002.

I’m a former New Yorker, and coincidentally I have a family member who works for the transit system there. This is a long standing issue with the MTA.
