Funny enough I went to an over privileged mostly white private school they never cared if black girls had braids or twists or natural but I did almost get in trouble for dying my hair red. I don’t know how we’ve gone so backward now.

Just sent my blonde, highlighted, eye-brow-waxed daughter to school, secure in the knowledge that she will not be shamed for “unnatural” hair. Imagining how beautiful this Black girl felt at the salon, getting ready for school,and how devastated she feels now. I want to throw up.

Her hair is neat and out of her eyes. Seems conducive to learning. What the hell else matters? This principal needs retraining. This has more to do with exercising power over a beautiful, confident AA child than anything else. This principal is broken.
