I wanna be transparent here. I personally asked national politician after politician to support our criminal justice reform efforts in California. They were ghosts. Guess who showed up? BERNIE SANDERS. We asked everybody else, but only he showed.

Yes, you disagreed on other races (Alameda), but she’s definitely involved in criminal justice reform and has introduced bills to prove it.
Sanders’ voting history is not pure on criminal justice reform any more than that of Clinton or others. If we elect Democrats, we have a chance to pressure them more toward that agenda. We must not fracture ourselves as we did in 2016, or Trump’s ideas win.

He showed up but his voting record doesn’t reflect anything positive either. Anyone can show up it’s your actions that count. Stop pushing him as this savior. He didn’t show up to black radio when he was asked in 2016. I bet he does this time. It’s called being an opportunist
