Love this initiative @shaunking; I just wish the shopping venue was other than @amazon. I’m trying to avoid giving Amazon my business due to refusal to cut ties w/NRA & Breitbart & continued reports of mistreatment of employees.

Exactly! Then these kids would have records, making it harder for them to find work and make them more susceptible to ending up in a for profit prison. They are creating bad cycles and aren’t even trying to hide it anymore #endforprofitprisons

One thing to note is that IL has banned for profit prisons.

I see. However, health care in facilities is privatized & inadequate & counties receive state funds for staffing. Communities cut police if crime goes down. More arrests justify budget. I'm sure making shoes available to poor kids for arrests does not help voters.

I don’t disagree at all. Operations like this serve multiple purposes: Padding arrest numbers Trying to look productive Appeasing transportation industry in the area - BIG $$$$ there & processing lots of people through the system

Many in law enforcement strongly believe that they should/need to gather info as many “offenders” as possible. Every time someone is processed LE now has full name, SS #, pic, finger prints, eye scan.
