It is imperative that we focus on the true indignation’s against people of color that happen daily and not water down the very real problems by defending acts of ignorance

This wasnt an act of ignorance. All the jerk had to do was recover whatever it was the child took accidentally. I'm sure the mom wasn't defending that, likely upset by his attitude. She did NOT assault him. He did not have to draw blood from her. This was not ok or acceptable.

I'm not going to excuse his punching her, but he didn't "walk into" anything. Maybe, she didn't mean to catch him in the neck, but she was trying to push him away. The contact was not accidental. He doesn't move more than an inch as she's doing that.

So, not "exactly." I agree he overreacted and should never have punched a woman like this. I agree he probably wouldn't have reacted this way to a white woman. I'm just saying her behavior is pretty bad. Getting in his face, pointing finger in face and pushing. Don't defend that.

She hit him first. She got back what she deserves.
