when my ancestors, only about 2 to 3 generations ago...had an offender or woman beater in their midst they got 2 chances to stop...3rd time, a group of indigenous tribal males would drag him out of his wigwam and kill him. Or Kalief Browder who was imprisoned pre-trial, for THREE years at RIKERS for allegedly stealing a backpack, which was never proven. Ultimately, he was released and the experience was too much, that he killed himself.
