I kid you not, the government is now asking my wife and I to give them permission to speak to our children’s pediatricians, review medical records, speak to their teachers, our neighbors, etc. Off of a bogus call to Child Services that’s full of nothing but false information.

Yesterday, authorities came to our house and served us papers that we are under investigation for the criminal neglect of our children. My wife broke down in tears. She is the most nurturing, involved, protective parent you will ever meet.

For nearly 20 years my wife and I have been parents of the most wonderful kids you could ever imagine. Literally each child has a 4.0 GPA, has never been in trouble, is thriving in their calling & gifts. They are the best.

I think just today have I gotten over the initial shock of the BS my family is dealing with. Now I’m pissed. Also, I want to be clear on this. I’m not going to slow down on my work. I’ve been shot at. Brutally beaten. Nearly died. This is a speed bump in my universe.

So was I, but the investigation went smoothly and quickly for us. Nothing ever came of it. It was very clear to them it was a false accusation.

As an 11 year public educator, I’ve never heard of such a thorough follow up after one report, especially anonymous. This is obviously targeted and beyond the scope of how child services operates. Hang in there Shaun.

Somebody did that to me years ago - I am white, my son is black. I calmly answered all the questions and even the case worker thought it was ridiculous - then they closed the file. Stupid waste of time!

This is outrageous. I can't imagine what you all are going through. Our system is broken. These professionals KNOW this is a bogus charge, but they are willing to allow the run-away train to barrel down the track.

The state has the legal *responsibility* to investigate claims. It cannot simply decide the claim is false because a parent is famous or known to be a nice person.

They have a responsibility to investigate credible claims of reasonable suspicion. There is nothing to indicate that is what this is.

You seem to confused about the subject of this discussion. People are falsely insisting the state doesn't need to interview the kids and that it has no right to interview them unless parents consent. This is not about what happens after those interviews take place.
