I cannot believe what I am being told today. My wife & I just learned that New York Child Services now wants to interview each of our children, alone, without us in the room, because of a single report that they admit was anonymous. The person didn't even leave a phone number.https://twitter.com/shaunking/status/1025008346925953024 …

I'm sorry that's happening to you. I once had an ex weaponize child services against someone I was seeing. It's a disgusting thing to do to someone and child services should have better processes in place. They need to do away with anon reports and criminalize false ones.
-
False reports are already criminalized. But are they prosecuted?
-
Probably almost never. I can understand "better safe than sorry" as a reason to investigate things. But there needs to be a higher bar of credibility for accusations that can be so damaging.
-
"Better safe than sorry" is what the ACS should have in mind before it gets too heavy-handed with no evidence and creates a large settlement we'll all have to pay for.

Ridiculous, will that person be held accountable?
-
Yes, the anonymous person will be held accountable.
-
If Shaun decides to sue the individual who filed the claim, and he should, anonymous reports are traceable. Source: mandated reporter.

A page out of the Alex Jones playbook against the Sandy Hook parents. Police or FBI should track down the perp forensically because this crime is probably being widely deployed to silence speech. Maybe go to the ACLU. Nail them. It’s despicable.
-
Agreed - no different than SWATing by calling in fake 911 calls to send police to somebody’s house with guns drawn.
-
Wait... is that a thing?
-
Unfortunately, yes. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swatting

This is as traumatic as Molotov cocktails thrown in black leaders homes in the 50s. In a way, it is worse. I pray this matter is quickly resolved.
-
That’s exactly what came to mind as I was reading this. They are trying to silence him by hitting him where they know it will hurt. We need to pray. But we also need to act on behalf of the person who is and has always acted on our behalf. We have to make noise about this. A lot.

Just a few days after you offered a large reward for the arrest of a white supremacist guilty of a violent hate crime... I wonder if these two things are related in some way... hmmm....

Same happened to my family, and we did let them interview the kids. At our home. The CPS lady apologized to us and the kids before she left, saying this call was unwarranted and took her away from families who really needed her help.
-
Same, I’ve had dozens of reports filed by my ex or his wife. They all were unsubstantiated until they found the one worker who decided he didn’t need my evidence or testimony to decide my guilt and I’ve been fighting it ever since. It’s been over a year appealing.DCS is crooked.
-
It was an "anonymous" call for us, from my husband's ex-wife, who was unhappy we were given primary custody. We lucked out on getting a kind person who truly loves kids as our contact. I'm so sorry your experience turned nightmare.
