Some people are fully addicted to talking about change. Not making it. Not doing it. Just talking about it. Whole lifetimes of change talk. But making change is hard. It’s messy. It requires uncomfortable adjustments and coalitions. It’s rarely ideologically pure.

Fame is strange. So is effectiveness. Combine both and you start to have enemies come out of the woodwork. And then you learn something truly painful... What you are doing to change the world, others may be doing for fame or power. So they see you as a threat to their status.

What's worse it's nothing like you imagined til you get there. Then once you're there, right in the middle of it - you see and learn things you wish you could unlearn. It taints it all. Then you gatta ask, am I done, or do I push, and find other people, who are just like me?
