Shaun. Listen to me. Most progressives believe Russians tried to interfere with our elections. The US is guilty of this too. However, there must be rational voices. Centrist Dems now use this to attack the left, Bernie, anyone they don't like. It's turned into McCarthyism.
Progressives. Listen to me. We can walk & chew gum at the same time. We can fight for all of our principles and practices and ideas, we can fight against mass incarceration & police brutality AND still believe Russia aimed to tilt the election toward Donald Trump.

I've noticed a huge uptick in 'progressive' journalists yelling at the left to get on board with the Russia story. But, why?

-It was and never has been anything else than a diversion and completely out of proportion to the shenanigans the Democratic Party and the media pulled (including elevating Trump and giving him non-stop coverage). -It has also been used as a foil against progressive voices.

The media is doing the same thing with "Russian hackers" they did with WMDs to get us into Iraq - hammer an untruth for long enough that people begin to believe it. The difference is that they're also using this to shift the blame from themselves onto the left.

*That* is why they're yammering at left-leaning folks to "get on board;" the continued implication is that we're the ones who were responsible for all of this Russia nonsense, and that pushing for progressive policies is only going to perpetuate it.

But Russia didn't tilt it. There is no hard proof. Until people acknowledge that the DNC, the media & the Clinton campaign took part in the 2016 fiasco, I can't take hearing that Russia had a real impact on our elections.
