Beautiful words, Powerful and meaningful. But solidarity has no color @ShaunKing. Nor as love. Or good moral values. Wish everybody could be color blind in the US...

No one can be "color blind" in the US. To do so is to negate our real, lived, experiences, and the concept is at best naive and unhelpful. Solidarity means sometimes being uncomfortable but persisting. It promotes truth and reconciliation. It is not neat, and it is not easy.
-
Very true. But for me, and this coming from a man 50%white and 50%extra choco black, values, MUST not be color, race, or ethnically driven! And living in Europe, and looking at the current state of things in the US, one wonders... What drives society to this point?
-
It's in Europe, too. Beware :( People will always blame and hate the 'other' when it makes them feel superior about something in their sad lives.
-
Been there. it's everywhere. But some parts of the planet get this disease with particular strength....

That was very insightful, thoughtful, and compassionate. It reminds me of a couple of quotes by MLK, "There comes a time when silence is betrayal." " In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies but the Silence of our friends."

Considering how few white celebrities make strong & clear allyship statements like this, Anne Hathaway deserves a lot of props.

I love Anne, she recognizes her immense privilege in this world and uses it to advocate for others. And doesn't pull any punches about it, no pandering to the "not all" crowd.

White people have been with us since the beginning of our struggle and died with us in our common cause. It is good to continue to see that support. As Edmund Burke wrote "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing".

"I want to thank all of you who have fought so hard for my freedom for so long, and I know that we all continue to stand up for the freedom of our brothers and sisters, and the day will come when we will achieve even more such victories." Angela Davis

Hundreds of thousands worldwide took to the streets for Davis' release.Scientists wrote protest letters. Most solidarity came from the GDR. Almost every child sent a postcard with a self-painted rose to prison. After her release, Davis visited East Berlin. I was one of those kids.

Sadly most are more comfortable saying they want change (INTENT) rather than doing what is necessary to bring about change (ACTION).

I’ve always disliked the term “white privilege” a more accurate term is white supremacy. Privilege denotes a special right or advantage granted..but it is other white ppl who grant such privileges to each other with impunity
-
Enlighten folks on just what all you've done for the cause then BlackGuru??
