The merchandising of black pain that we managed to turn into artistic expression is as American as apple pie. The Blues was the cry of the unfulfilled American dream for the southern negro. Hip Hop is that same cry, 75 years later from urban black America. They are the same.

When the American Empire draws to a close and they look at its contribution to human history, they'll talk about three things: 1.) The Constitution, 2.) Nuclear Weapons, and 3.) The Blues. A world without The Blues is a world without jazz, country, rock & roll, or pop music.

There’s a difference between getting to know a culture and what he’s referring to. For example, black women are considered ghetto and unkempt when they wear cornrows yet when white women wear them they’re fashionable and beautiful. They appreciate the culture but not us.

Isnt it all American culture? to be shared and enjoyed no matter what colour your skin is? Why is it only Black culture. Or Mexican culture. Or Islamic culture. Why is it divided and not united? People need to unite as a country. I try.
