He didn’t do the right thing by resigning he’s trying to secure a future job with another department.

Not to steal thunder, but unfortunately he will probably just go to another police or security department..The MO of too many police departments in this country is to finally give into public demands to fire an unacceptable officer,.. then quietly place them somewhere else!

Exactly, he will now potentially get benefits & opportunities that he should have lost, when his racial bias, clearly affected him from doing his job.

The fact that I had to check to see what incident this was about says quite a bit about how bad things are getting....

Officer Patrick Conner should have been fired, penalized(no Pension) and charged with "reckless endangerment.' Patrick Conner recklessly engaged in conduct which created a substantial risk of serious physical injury to another person(s) - Mia Irizarry and her family.

He was probably advised to resign instead of being fired. If he has enough time in to retire, he'll be able to keep his pension & benefits. He can also apply for another job with no record of any previous termination. He'll be lucky if he lands a Mall cop job after this though.

No, he'll just go to a department more accepting of his racism and ineptitude where he'll likely take out his aggression on another person of color and end their life. We've seen this before.

He will just get a job in Another PD. And do it again. Same thing they do with abusive priests. Just move them around.

While they should have fired him. His resignation prevents him from getting unemployment from the State of Illinois. If he had been fired, he could have filed for unemployment.
