Wow, this was so hard to watch. The child seems so desensitized. The long term affects this young girl will carry with her through life is unknown but I’m sure detrimental. I hope they can heal.

Thought I was the only person noticed that. As the little girl comforted her mother there was no emotion in her face as if she couldn’t understand or come to terms with what’s happening.

She was crying which shows nothing but emotion. Definitely lost. Definitely scared for life tho.

My God. The baby’s response made me gasp in horror and I thought they got to her just in time. She was responding at first like an abused hostage who didn’t really believe she was saved. She was mentally protecting herself. Broke my heart.

Each of these “reuniting” videos I see suggests the children are in shock. Who knows what has happened to them, what they have heard or believe. The damage in these slow walks to their parents is palpable. Trust broken in a heartbeat can take a lifetime to restore.

I do not understand the logic behind this. Like wtf was their plan with these kids? Leave them in foster care/concentration camps, until they turned 18? Send them back to a country they have no memory of? Or send them out on the streets with no family?

They should have NEVER been separated not for one minute, let alone 55 days! That’s incomprehensible to me. Their situation of fleeing domestic violence wasn’t even taken into account as even more basis to keep them together. Legal systems treating people like they are non-human.
