Prosecutors were seeking 19 years behind bars. This guy Alec Cook was initially charged with MORE THAN 20 crimes against nearly a dozen women. The threat this man poses to society is GLARING as is the injustice. This is disgusting.
I kid you not, he was just convicted of sexually assaulting three different women and strangulating and stalking two others. They gave him 3 years in prison. He's white. And the fact that the judge said why he gave a more lenient sentence is because he “had no prior criminal record”...im sorry but raping, stalking, and strangling over 10 women is ok cuz he wasn’t caught before???

Actions come in many forms: Marching, donations, phone calls, mentoring; even something as simple as being a positive example to an impressionable mind, who could be headed down a path in which they learn bigotry, racism & hatred is ok. But, it all start w/empathy & compassion.

I couldn't agree more. If there was ever a time to speak up it's now. I changed my bio recently to include one of my fave quotes, which pretty much says the same thing you just did. Scary that it rings so true in 2018.

This country is sick. These poor women that endured the pain he caused, and lives are forever changed. While the thing gets 3 years, he’ll be out in less then a year with good behavior. Out to be the same predator.
