I just spoke with a family related to a child that has been sent away with a foster family. They literally told me they are considering forcefully taking their nephew from the foster family and that they feel like he has been kidnapped. It's the Underground Railroad of 2018.
Many of the children who've been detained & sent away thousands of miles from their parents actually have relatives in the United States. Those relatives are being denied access and custody while their relatives are in group homes & centers w/ strangers This is an abomination.
If only it were that easy.There is a vetting system in place to ensure that these children are not susceptible to any kind of human trafficking. Precaution should take precedence until there is a determination that the child's safety&well-being are going to be met upon release.
But. This. Is. How. The. Corrupt. Foster. Care. System. Works! There are no reforms being offered by either party, just anti-trumpism. This is why Repubs will likely maintain control of both the house and the senate.

One of my daughters had a friend who was in group homes during her middle school years. We brought her to our home every weekend. Her lawyer helped me get permission from the court to do this. None of the group homes were good.
So why didn’t these people go to the border and say...”hey I’m coming to visit some relatives?”
