Hi Shaun! We met in NYC at Columbia a few years back- I was the teacher wearing red! I'm on my way to work-my 5th graders graduate today! But on the way I'll send over some articles and such that I've read over the years about Vincent Chin that continue to politicize me/others.

For documentaries, see "Who Killed Vincent Chin?" which is on film, but you can see snippets online, and "Vincent Who?" which came out a few years ago.

@NBCAsianAmerica has done a lot of good work around sharing Vincent Chin's story but also in general sharing about current Asian American issues. @angryasianman and @reappropriate are regular blogs I read to get a good Asian American analysis.

I think @ShaunKing moving forward we need to highlight 1. Xenophobic language and behavior will lead to injustices like Vincent Chin's brutal murder if we don't learn from history 1/

2. Vincent Chin's death highlighted that Asian Americans weren't well-represented: there were less than a dozen Asian American lawyers in all of Michigan at the time, and only ethnic media for a while was covering the case. 2/

4. Vincent Chin's case galvanized Asian Americans, who had before identified on their ethnic lines, under a broader political identity which is still being contended with, as @ellendwu and others continue to point out. #AsianAmericans
