36 years ago today Vincent Chin was bludgeoned to death by two white laid-off autoworkers who mistook Chin as Japanese and blamed him for the loss of their jobs. Vincent was Chinese. Ebens and Nitz never served jail time or paid my family anything. Rest in power, uncle Vincent.

For documentaries, see "Who Killed Vincent Chin?" which is on film, but you can see snippets online, and "Vincent Who?" which came out a few years ago.

3. We have to speak up My great-auntie Lily Chin went all over the country and shared Vincent Chin's story for years. She was heartbroken after the final court hearing and moved back to China, unable to face reporters or the US anymore. 3/pic.twitter.com/vnt2FuBe28

4. Vincent Chin's case galvanized Asian Americans, who had before identified on their ethnic lines, under a broader political identity which is still being contended with, as
@ellendwu and others continue to point out.#AsianAmericans - 3 more replies
