Let me be very clear on something. Several brand new polls prove this... Tens of millions of Americans have no problem w/ what's going on at our border. Polls show 46% of Republicans, 25% of Independents, & 15% of Democrats are just fine with parents being separated from kids.
I found out the hard way earlier this month in California, and like a complete dummy, it broke my heart. I was so naive. 20%-30% of Democrats, almost exclusively white, voted with Republicans to maintain the status quo of mass incarceration. They like it just the way it is.
Sadly, I always say there is no party that represents me and my views. It's always the lesser of two evils...
This is when we have to remember what Malcolm X said about them, back in the day (“The Ballot or The Bullet”). He had already given us the game before he died. Sadly, not much has changed. 
Remember it was Bill Clinton and both democrats and republicans who supported the 3 strikes rule which has Curtis Wilkerson serving life for stealing socks.
A lot of folk, Californians included, have no problem with mass incarceration, just as long as the prisons aren't near them.
Yes & the main reason trump ratings are so high. The same reason he will probably win a second term. They tell us the dont like what's happening but answer yes to him in the polls & voting booth. This is who they are & have always been. They are their fathers children.
Because it doesn't impact them, so why should they care. Duh
Not a dummy, just naive. Corporate Dems are so dedicated to maintaining the status quo. Especially the Californians.
