1. Trump’s opponent must not share any of his key weaknesses on honesty, character, sexual assault/harassment. They must be the anti-Trump. Barack Obama is the anti-Trump in this sense. Any candidates that have Trump’s weaknesses, and nullify them, shouldn’t run.

3. Trump’s opponent has to already have a HUGE social media following. Trump uses his ENORMOUS social media base to dominate the news cycle and to clobber his opponents. He would eat Tim Kaine or anyone like him for lunch. This is a political reality for 2020.

4. Trump’s opponent has to compete in all 50 states. Trump won 30 states in 2016. Reversing that means resonating and winning in states that he won, and where his approval ratings are actually strong right now. Many of those states felt/feel abandoned by Democrats. Hard work.

5. Lastly, Trump’s opponent has to have a compelling vision for this country that resonates and is rooted in principles and experience. It can’t just be anti-Trump. That’s not enough to beat him. Not at all.
