The fact that humans think he looks like them, is in itself, proof of our self absorbedness. God doesn't "look" like anything any of us have ever seen or could imagine seeing. Nothing our "eyes" can see.

When I was s child, I had a picture of Jesus hanging in my bedroom. He looked like a white man with a light tan and long, straight hair. It’s more comforting to me to know he was Black. If he was a Black woman, even better
