What this great piece doesn't mention is that the education is entirely free and doctors are required to take a LOA when called to serve areas in the event of natural disasters emergencies etc as in #Flint and #PuertoRico

Shaun, this is an excellent to share because it spreads hope, opportunity, and a viable alternative to all of other for profit programs. Especially for those prospective medical school students who are sincere about medically underserved communities.

The only thing not addressed is some States won't accept those who have graduated from Spanish-only curriculum schools. It's utter poppycock: if you can pass the hardest test on the world, the USMLE Step One, get above average scores, you should be able to move forward. SMH

The U.S. physician “shortage” is dubious, the burdens of MD graduate debt inflated, and the promise of sending grads to “underserved” areas unproven. A more compelling argument for training more Black doctors? Creating a more robust, politically powerful Black upper class.

I love following you! However, sad to see this. She may have been a gifted student in article! Totally against doctors trained in communist Cuba! Much more at stake from a #venezuelaamerican perspective
