Shaun, the thing is, this is MOST of AMERICANS. The few racist invertebrates yes, louder now. But their voices will always drown in the choir of goodness tolerance and respect we give one another. We just need to practice them more to counterbalance. And we are.

Just because the majority of white America doesn't carry tiki torches or throw on white hoods does not mean that they are aware of their privilege and the protections from systemic abuse that it provides. That is a rare and exceptional thing to find in the average White American

I was at an event with the mayor a few weeks back in Philly. It was to honor Irish immigrants. He took the time to speak, off script, about the power of America's diversity and was inclusive of all races & creeds. It's comforting to hear a politician express ideals such as his.

This is very right and very correct. That said, I think people also need to see that the NFL isn’t some American institution for freedom, but another business that has the right to change whatever rules they want. Freedom of Speech doesn’t protect players from their employers.

If players want to fight if they can stand or kneel, they should go on strike. That’s the only way I can see them fighting back effectively.
