Last year obesity took more than 4 million lives worldwide. That’s more than terrorism and car crashes and all firearm related deaths combined. Does that mean it’s wrong to speak about anything other than obesity. Of course not.https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2017/6/19/15819808/obesity-global-epidemic …

Almost all white people are killed by white people. All most all Latinos are killed by Latinos. And almost all Black people are killed by Black people. But only one group, Black people, is asked daily to limit their advocacy to Black on Black crime.

The moment I hear someone say, “Why don’t Black people talk more or fight more against Black on Black crime?” I immediately know that you literally have no idea what you are talking about. None at all. Cities are full of marches and advocacy groups fighting this every single day

The United States does not require marches for Black people to be held responsible for violence, or for any crime. Nobody is held more responsible, no group is more imprisoned, than Black people. The system exists to punish Black people. Police on the other hand....

Right-wingers: "What about Chicago?" Me: "Yes, criminals commit crimes, but don't you understand that it's a whole lot worse when a law-enforcement professional behaves unprofessionally or criminally?"

Ok if this isn’t non-sense idk what is! The point is organizations like BLM only March when a white police officer shoots a black man. And ppl of other races get shot yes including white ppl and the media doesn’t cover it. But MSM reports quickly if the person is black!
-
Anyone dead at the hands of cops is one too many! But we need to honestly have a conversation and not pretend that all black ppl shot by cops are innocent by standers and is only COPS to blame
-
It is worth looking at the way that white gunmen who shot children at schools recently were captured alive, even though they were not only armed but had very evidently killed and injured numbers of innocent people. It is the totally different form of treatment that's iniquitous.

It's also a ludicrous standard. No group of people must first eliminate all harm done within that group to have a legitimate justice claim for harm done by those outside that group or by the state. The one has NOTHING to do with the other.

That’s missing the point. Both of these things can be true: 1) black-on-black crime is a real issue that doesn’t get enough serious attention 2) police brutality is a real issue that doesn’t get enough serious attention The idea that one discredits the other is nonsensical.
-
The thing is, McBeth, is that police and law enforcement leaders are supposed to protect the public and to stand up against injustice and lawlessness. When they are the perpetrators instead of protectors, that is a far greater moral and societal crime, regardless of the # or %.
-
I agree with you, though that wasn’t my point.
-
We may be of the same mind when it comes the issue of your point 2). When you imply reducing X% of 1), however, - which would be a larger empirical number to be sure - should be a more important concern then we part ways. 2) is a far more evil influence on our society & nation.

The difference is those black citizens that are killing other black citizens haven’t sworn to protect their lives. That’s literally what our tax money is paying the police to do! If they can’t do that, they need new jobs. Maybe go to college and find a new career.
