I am deeply embarrassed by how many elected officials have repeatedly lied to this family - telling them that what happened to Kalief would never happen again promising the most basic reforms that still remain elusive. Too much money being made by incarcerating people and kickbacks to politicians for politicians to make reform important. We need to make the politicians more accountable.

Exactly. Too much money being made by the prosecutors, and judges under the table off of the "True Bills" in which the prosecutors write up like a hotel manager to a guest. Those who know what a true bill is will knowledge the room and board cost posted before being incarcerated.
