I had this epiphany long ago, and it remains a major disappointment of my life. Ignorance, bigotry, racism, selfishness, authoritarianism, anti-social and anti-democratic values are mainstream in the US. I keep on, but I’m not hopeful.

Trying to do my part here in Las Vegas, NV. Researched my candidates to the best of my abilities and truly thought about what was best for us now and in the future. I early voted on Memorial Day. Ready for change!

Y'know, I've always known I see things differently than a lot of people, but how can any American look at our country and not see how wrong so many things are???

Sadder that real change is measured in generations, not years. And if you happen to see real change in anything shorter, you can expect a backlash in about the same time.

Those outside the US have seen it for a long time now. America is racist to the absolute core. At every level: President, SC, Congress, State, Police, middle-class, minimum-wagers.

One of the problems is the culture of "hear no evil, see no evil" and eternal feel-good optimism promoted by the most privileged classes. Admitting injustice exists scares these people, because without ignorance, they are now responsible for ending it or willingly taking part.

Or, you backed flawed candidates. You play the victim so well, but the truth seems to elude you so often.

Shaun, get ready for your heart to be broken and stay resilient. It’s hard work and worth it!

This is why the Republicans will always win. Democrats refuse to vote. We'll march and raise a ruckus, but won't go to the polls.

Agreed. I like to think it's because people just don't understand the issue, so default to their biases, but idk. I've seen this stuff among the educated too. It sucks.

Facts. With all due respect I. Wondered when you would notice. Even the people who big up you on your timeline. We will keep fighting though.
