Seeing something rather painful as I study voting results in several California counties tonight. Nearly 100% of Republicans will vote for the conservative DA & Sheriff. But so will half of Democrats - especially white moderates. Ending mass incarceration doesn’t motivate them

a lot. most people don't care. of the few that vote, many don't even give much thought to who they vote for. Couple that with the lame parties just caring about power, and there you have it.

That seems pretty suspicious to me. SOMEONE had to have the necessary qualifications, unless someone or some people were convinced that by parties unknown that they shouldn't run. Just tossing out a theory. I live in Sacramento County, so what do I know?.
Fresno County is a hotbed of racist Trump lovers, unfortunately. It’s hard for anyone but the most conservative to make headway here.

“White moderate” democrats are the most dangerous voting block in America. They stagnate the political process and maintain subjugation as the status quo.
^This is only true if you subscribe to Murc's Law, that only Republicans have agency. Democratic socialists who notice patterns of state violence toward brown and black when both Democratics and Republicans have power ought to recognize that Republicans are more dangerous.
Republicans admit what they are. Moderate democrats pretend to be allies.

Ok, if you were a vulnerable person, you would rather have a Democrat who lacks the political courage to dismantle the carceral state and abolish ICE and all that other great stuff (keeping in place a violent status quo)...
I know you see yourself as very smart for opposing moderate Democrats. I am smart too -- I volunteer for Ocasio-Cortez! But politics is about using power to protect lives, not seeing yourself as being smart. I think you need to check your privilege.
