For the past 6 months the @RealJusticePAC has been preparing for this day in California.
We're supporting candidates for District Attorney & Sheriff up & down the state.
Two primary groups have worked tooth & nail against us.
One didn't surprise me. The other did.
A THREAD.
1. Law enforcement unions have poured MILLIONS of dollars into races to defeat our candidates. Not just police unions, but prison workers unions, prosecutors unions, highway patrol unions - groups that rely on mass incarceration FOR THEIR INCOME.
2. Every single time the @RealJusticePAC invested money into a DA or Sheriff's race, police & prison unions would come in and double & triple whatever we gave. Over and over again.
We have to do better. We have to raise more and spend more. Period.
3. Now we weren't the least bit surprised by police unions & prison unions putting millions of dollars into these races. But seeing it up close has shown me how desperate some VERY powerful groups are to maintain and grow mass incarceration.
We (6 of us) voted for Milo Fitch and Noah Phillips.
