Nothing will happen to these cops. Too many in the force protect the few. I believe@they think if they ever take responsibility, their entire world will crumble. But sadly, it’s not the case- it would become stronger with the public. Some force must take the first step...

I have abandoned the few bad apple theory. This is systemic and acceptable in departments throughout the nation.

What in God’s name?!? Four cops on the guy & one of them still had to pound on his head?!? This is SICK! The cop should be fired! There is no way that was justified!

Also saw that in many states there are secrecy laws on police and any "discipline" they are given. You don't know if they received any at all.

Open, transparent policing is possible. Where I live, the police do "community policing". Hiding discipline on any of them would not be tolerated. That the punitive, protect the police no matter what style is still thriving is flat out wrong. It doesn't have to be that way.

Of course it doesnt. But depends on who is in control. The GOP controls fed govt now and oversight of civil rights etc violations by these police depts. And they are virtually silent in enforcement like the Police Code of Silence.

We've been controlled in WI by GOP governor & legislature since 2010. I've seen the viciousness for the past several years. If we don't get that blue wave this November, I can't stand to think of the future.

Again, understand and agree. The reason its getting worse is because the economic inequality divide is getting ever greater. And since corps have a huge control over jobs/pay AND the political system, I see it will only get worse, blue wave or not. AI threatens to replace huge #s

A partnership between education (tech schools possibly?), businesses, and sociologists, & civic leaders needs to happen. This needs to be an all-out effort & not talk with no action. And corporations need to put some of their billions to fund it. Time for them to step up!

The corps won't cooperate since they are at the mercy now of fund mgrs on Wall Street. Corps dont stay in line, their credit ratings get downgraded etc. SAME with governments now. The era of Greed is back and they desire to share not. IMO.
