The bottomline is this: District Attorneys hold an immense deal of power over how the local justice system functions. They decide who to charge. They decide what charges are brought. They have discretion in asking for bail. There's a lot they can do to make reforms on day one.
But they have to want to and many don't. So our task is to first meet with them and test the water. Will they see that the reforms touted by DA Krasner are smart, effective, keep us safer, AND save millions of dollars? Or will they continue doubling down on failing strategy?
If they refuse to work with their community, their community will get to work organizing to find and elect a replacement.
Its as simple as that. You're either with the people or you're against them.
