BREAKING: Several star @NFL players have told me they are considering sitting out the season until the de facto ban of Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick is removed and both men are given spots back on rosters.
They aim to get 25% of the players to sit out with them.

NFL players also do not have a central method of communication with one another. No central email list or text message system. They have group chats and email threads with their team or friends, but struggle to communicate one message to all players in the league.

@SoCaliSteph you were the first person to note this; smartest thing Kap did was get his own lawyers who work for HIM. No way in hell Dee Smith even gets to the deposition stage lol. -
I know. The NFLPA has no teeth because it’s in bed with the NFL. I learned this awhile ago representing injured athletes. It’s horrifying what they allow.

The NFL players need a power team of lawyers that will represent their collective rights & protections as NFL players and who are willing to take on the NFL owners.

The reason the NFLPA has little power as a bargaining representative is the fact that it’s membership refuses to make the sacrifices necessary to have a strong Union to oppose the Owners and the NFL.
-
Depending on whether or not the players you mention play in a “right to work” for less state, they may not have the option of refusing to pay all dues inasmuch as the labor contract has a union security clause.

To get power and the leverage necessary to have a strong union requires several generations of players to sacrifice their lifelong dreams and earning potential for a principle that will not effect them directly. Not an easy thing…

If it's not in the contract, then they (NFL) cannot enforce discipline. Now if the Union signrd off on it and or, not filed a grievance; then what type of service are you paying for? Hmmmmmm?

Everyone needs a union fighting for them. It doesn’t matter if you make a lot of money or little money. I urge people to go to the Smithsonian and view the exhibit about working conditions before unions in this country. It is so sad it’s unbelievable.

They have to actually strike to gain that power. The owners know they won't strike, for a number of reasons we're all aware of, and so they lack effective leverage. Refusing union dues will prob hurt their cause more than help.

Strike...go on strike. Refuse to come out of the locker rooms. Hit
@NFL in their pockets. There's a difference between being mad because black players#TakeAKnee and being mad about losing money on bets and fantasy football. Those people will change their tune by the 1/2 time.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
