I absolutely agree race is the factor here, but I can't support segregated leagues or teams. we have to solve this. we have to come together, somehow. until then, I greatly admire the players courageous enough to risk their career to persist in demonstrations

Segregated leagues may not be a good answer and we agree the current situation isn't good so since most realistic paths lead to bad outcomes.. there will be disagreement in how this plays out..
-
League ownership is already segregated.

I'm not arguing that. but why pursue further divide? there's still at least some (likely many) of us typical white males who genuienly want a society that is united and embraces cultures equally. especially when it comes to law enforcement.
-
When the institutions of power and influence (justice, law enforcement, NFL, executive branch, evangelical) have white males that are either quietly complicit or leading division for marginalized minorities then we see further divide as a better path then continued compliance
-
I get that. I can't argue or be mad at that. It still makes my heart ache. I really thought by now in my life we'd have progressed further, together. but it feels like our country is a rapid regression.

You and me both my friend.. I used to ask my grandparents about civil rights stuff and say that I'm not sure what I'd do in that situation.. and now I feel like I'm learning exactly how I would've responded ... Daily

Hey Shaun, I follow your stuff and it's really eye opening and usually top notch but you're really reaching for this one. The Bleacher Report was a straw poll of 43 players. Yes 21/21 white players is technically 100% but it was in no way a statistically representative sampling.
-
The Bleacher Report article itself admits the poll is not scientific. Now I wouldn't be surprised if the number of white NFL players who support Trump really is high, but you're being sensationalist and I think you can be better. Otherwise you're just feeding the trolls.

I doubt 100% of white NFL player support Trump.

seems like a lot

Pretty sure Shaun meant 100 percent of those who were surveyed

This doesn't seem accurate. 100%? Really?

Weird. The anonymous straw poll I took showed it was only 60%.

There are nearly 1700 NFL players. Sampling 44 at random is bound to have dramatically different results. That's not weird. It's math.
-
For sure. Most certainly we can agree that there isn't accurate data which may be derived from such a small, anonymous sampling, right?
-
I agree the sample size is way too small. But 100% or 60% still means the majority of white players are a-ok with Trump and his policies.
-
I hear that. I'm the only one in my family who didn't vote for him. Our relationships are virtually non-existent now. Being the "liberal snowflake" of the family is cool though. I can sleep well knowing that I don't hate people for ignorant reasons. My kids are taught to love.
