This reminds me of some of my research on Jackie Robinson & when black players integrated into the predominantly white sports leagues. It killed the negro leagues & a lot of black businesses that supported them to a large degree.

In his book 40 Million Dollar Slaves, William C Rhoden ponders “what if MLB integrated a few Negro League TEAMS” instead of players (with existing Black owners). How would history be different? It’s great “what if”. But I suspect owners would have eventually sold to white owners

Might be a dumb question, but where else in the world is there segregated professional leagues? MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL, EPL, la liga, etc thrive because they are made up of the best players in the world. I don’t think a segregated league could make it in this day in age, personally
