it's not censorship, he's just been taken off the playlists...meaning Spotify isn't promoting his music, it's still available...
i left New York as a suicidal junkie, came back 4 years later to headline bowery ballroom only addicted to candy and black and milds I consider it a victory
i don’t trust people who use bandanas instead of masks. like…you probably had that thing around your neck since Burn Piano Island Burn came out
shoegaze is the crossfit of music. one month in and you've lost 20 friends because you just can't shut up about it.
gatekeepers of goth are pathetic. siouxsie was major label, not your little secret. simply get a life!

6 months ago I reluctantly checked myself into rehab to appease friends and family that were concerned I wouldn’t live through the year. It turned out to be one of the most richly rewarding experiences of my life, and I wake up every day now happy to be alive and sober.
exactly...get mad at the developers who buy entire city blocks and turn them into upper class dormitories for transplants...not the local guides sharing and spotlighting a local art form that flourishes in the neighborhood
there are many commissioned murals /walls/ ex-billboards/spaces where local Brooklyn artists are paid to create + display their work. I don't see how putting more eyes on these artists' work is a negative for the community...though I can see how it looks ridiculous to tour it
As of today I'm 2 years opiate free. If you think you can't do it, you're wrong - the hole looks a lot deeper from the bottom. Step by step day by day. <3
ten year anniversary of 'SPORTS' coming up on the 9th. prepping something fun for the old heads
amazing how you can write the lyrics to your own song, record it and hear it hundreds of times, step up to the mic to sing it and not remember a single word of it
it's clearly something they added just to absolve legal responsibility, not to ACTUALLY stop anyone
I’m not forgetting how you were all somehow communists and stock traders in the same calendar year 🧐
first 6 songs we ever wrote together, self produced/financed and self released, on life is weird 💕

Today is my birthday and I’m also 68 days sober. I haven’t felt this good....ever. Fell on dark times this year but all my amazing friends and family have been their to hold me up every step up the way when I couldn’t myself. Love to you alllllllll
in other ~personal~ news, in February I’m taking a life detour to Portland for a while to start work on a new record 💪🏻
Had a great time speaking to about my decade long battle to get clean, my struggles with bouts of creative ennui, depression, and the upcoming third album.
this is me. when you’re mean to me this is who you’re being mean to

I contributed a quote to this amazing oral history on WHITE PONY. A complete game changer in heavy music + near perfect piece of art. theringer.com/music/2020/6/1
I missed edge day but getting sober changed my life drastically and it only happened 6 months ago. quitting suboxone was the hardest thing so far but absolutely 100 worth it. haven’t felt this focused and driven and together since I was 18 (oddly enough when I started using!)
unfortunately for my haters, i have been willing to grow along both spiritual and muscular lines
I designed the album art for the excellent new album ‘no oblivion’ - preorder through and listen to the first single ‘Starlings’
last night was so fun thanks to everyone that came out to celebrate our first show
you’re laughing? the first band of 4 showed up late in a UHAUL box truck with 4 full stacks and has been sound checking for an hour and you’re laughing?
Tomorrow marks 6 months of my own sobriety - I can admit that the pandemic, political climate and environmental destruction around the world is NOT making it easy for those of us who have the means to stay sober or healthy, let alone those struggling with houselessness.
guy who buys things and then thanks the company who made it like they got hooked up
i know this tour is gonna be good because Toby drank two room temp cans of cambells chunky soup in the van on day one
