Acknowledging luck, opportunity, privilege play *a* role in your life's journey doesn't mean you didn't work hard. It may mean you're playing on a different difficulty setting. That's why we lift others up and lend our privilege. Open doors for them that you may have kicked open.

I still have my Newton 120. And totally agree that luck has played a huge role for me as well!

I consider myself very lucky to be born in a relatively stable country, in a family where I didn't have to go hungry and got proper education. This doesn't mean that I didn't have to work hard. Only that there are folks less fortunate than me who need to be given that extra hand.

The ability to honestly believe success is only due to personal efforts and not luck is a type of privilege in and of itself.

Also: Sometimes, there are multiple sets of doors. While you open a door and hold it for someone, they get through that door... and hold open another set of doors for you. Then you go through and you both talk about your journey together, of lifting each other up.
