I kept my daughter home today, Shannon. I don’t care if they say it wasn’t a credible threat. I have the peace of mind of knowing she is safely in her room reading. I have no control over the parents who leave their guns unlocked, and I am not taking any chances.
I kept my kids home. I feel like the email from school put parents in an impossible situation and they should’ve cxld classes today. And yes, they should’ve included info about gun storage.
Our film puts audiences in the shoes of our children that have to go to school every day under the stress of not feeling safe at school. Film is inspired from a story written by a 6th grader. This film is a call to action, and the message is clear.https://vimeo.com/ondemand/generationlockdownfilm …
Our suburban Houston school/district didn’t send anything home about this. I’m now debating picking up early today.
We live in #Philadelphia, sadly this is an every day reality for our city. Not inside the schools as much as walking or getting to and from school. I am sorry ppl are feeling especially scared today, but this has been the reality of Black and Brown families for years. #TikTok
Seriously, schools in Indiana could spray paint warnings on their basketball courts...
Got two emails addressing two separate threats this week at my daughter's middle school. The "solutions" offered were increased police presence and a review of ALICE protocols. Maddening.
We also had a threat early in the week at my son’s middle school with ZERO solutions or action steps to keep kids safe, other than “the police are involved and it’s being addressed.”
