John Lennon was assassinated 41 years ago today by a man who flew from Hawaii to New York with a handgun in his suitcase. He shot Lennon five times with hollow-point bullets. Not for checked luggage. Bomb & drug dogs. Carry on were x-ray and/or hand check. Metal detectors for humans. Wands if necessary & police body checks when all else failed. Worked airport security 75/76 college breaks. Locked down for almost 30hrs when LaGuardia firebombed 12/75.
