When the hurricane hit Houston he locked the doors to his church and didn't let anyone in. His church is the old Rockets arena. He's a fraud.

Well, I did call him a charlatan. But I have to tell you the focus on favor vs attending to hurt and grief and the suffering of this world has been really challenging as a believer. He blocked me - that’s his right. But so is mine to call out prosperity gospel. Every time.

Now there’s a hashtag (and congratulations on your block).

@JoelOsteen was a false apostle way before this! There are many more scoundrels like him including Paula White. They have gotten pretty adept at using faith to influence politics and economics. We need to Tax the Churches if they insist on preaching politics. -
YES, YES, YES!! I’ve been saying that forever! Tax the hell out of them all. This one, Joel O., gives me the creeps, too.pic.twitter.com/4oKvt8mRVg

He's a fake Christian followed by millions of other fake Christians. He closed his church to those in need of basic life necessities in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. It was never about morality to the religious right. It's about white privilege and he embodies it 100%.

Osteen opened Lakewood to Harvey refugees...eventually, after they were initially refused & the news made national headlines. He walked back earlier statement in which he said church would only become a shelter when others reached capacity & claimed delay was due to preparations.
