Not to mention that it would more or less guarantee that more kids of color would be hurt

It amazes me how nitwits still find a way to play a race card with any topic and at anytime.

I'm a teacher, I would carry. We discussed this last year and 5 or 6 of us would, we would even pay for the training on our own dime. Hard targets are safe targets.

FINALLY - A SMART PERSON IN THIS CONVERSATION. Holy moly. There are some pure fools in this string, I'm having a hard time absorbing how well conditioned they are in their ignorance. Thank you. Hope. Oy.

Which location would a shooter choose? A gun free zone? Or a building where he doesn't know who or how many will shoot back?
Thanks. Twitter will use this info to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Kind of hard to provide evidence something will b effective when it hasn't been tried as yet. Who said the target will b moving?? I am pretty sure if someone shot back at that POS he might have dropped his weapon. We will never know. Many teachers, admin, coaches have guns already

I bet she has bodyguards with guns

I teach. I am a gun owner. I will not carry a gun in school (or anywhere else that doesn't involve hunting). When I handle a gun, safety is my focus. When I teach, my focus is students and the lesson. Just let me teach.

Plus how are police going to know in a live fire fight who’s the good guy and who’s the bad guy?

How are they gonna know if they dont even go inside?

Senators are not packing heat, either are ticket takers at the airport, lawyers in court, or vendors at ball parks. Teachers, who are not training for and did not train for active shooters should not be armed. We hire police and guards for those situations.

Every teacher should walk out and refuse. This is outrageous.

They dont have to do anything. They're not being forced to do anything.

One word rebuttal: deterrence. It won't have to work because it will not be called to work. Prospective attackers won't attempt an attack if they don't know who is armed and where (as opposed to posted security guards/officers).
-
If shooters acted rationally then surely; 1)Armed guards would deter 2)There wouldn’t have been shootings in states/areas where members of the public might be carrying? I’m still glad to live in a country where our children don’t have to practice active shooter drills at school.
-
Here's something rational you can help us with: the last school with armed teachers to suffer a mass shooting was ______________________?
-
Most schools, armed teachers or no, haven’t had shootings, thankfully, so the fact that there hasn’t been a shooting proves nothing. Again, children in my country don’t have active shooter drills - it’s the price you are now paying for the NRA interpretation of 2A
-
So... school mass shootings are rare, much more so than all the alarmist coverage would imply. Glad to agree on that. But you are wrong on the proves nothing claim. If "too many guns" are the problem, a school with armed teachers would be more likely to suffer a shooting.
-
That doesn’t follow at all - & many law enforcers believe that more guns in the vicinity means that more casualties are likely if there is an incident. Whilst they are rare even 1 is too many which is why we introduced tighter gun restrictions after our 1 and only incident in ‘96
-
"That doesn't follow at all," but you go on to say that it does with the "more guns in the vicinity" argument? Yeah, that's a little hard to follow.
